ABC Relocations in Leominster, Massachusetts

TL;DR: ABC was very hard to get ahold of after setting up our move, didn't hire enough packers for our house, leading to things being left for the movers to pack the next day, chose not to set up back up plans in case the semi truck couldn't fit in our driveway, leading to a move that should have taken 5 hours to load to take over double that, and the packers labeled things so awfully that we have no access to incredibly important things in our temporary housing arrangement. There is no way in hell all those 5-star reviews are real. Based off our awful moving experience, I have a really hard time imagining all of these 5-star reviews are legitimate. We had a previous job relocation move with Allied and decided to try them again when we had to organize a move on our own, based on the awesome service we had before. We opted to have ABC pack our stuff, which was ultimately more frustrating than it was worth, and I can't imagine a much more stressful move, without the moving truck exploding halfway across the country. To top all of this off, we were moving during my third trimester, so we had some pretty necessary items to be packed for the coming baby, and stuff that needed to be kept aside for a month and a half temporary stay with my parents. We began our journey with scheduling a consultation, which was confirmed but somehow not scheduled. Luckily they were able to get someone out the same day a few hours later, but not a great start, for sure. Travis came out later that day, and seemed quite knowledgeable. He gave us a quote of 10,000 pounds, roughly, with packing about $9600, (it ended up being $10,500) and assured us that it would probably be an overestimate, which we really appreciated! Shortly after scheduling the move, we had an increasingly hard time getting ahold of Travis to answer our questions. Fast forward to the packing day, April 26th, and 2 packers show up at 9am to pack our chock full 1500 sq ft house. For comparison, the move 2 years beforehand had 4 packers come, who were done in the early afternoon. They were both really nice and packed what they did with great care, but understandably they left at 7:30pm with more stuff still to pack, and plenty of boxes left unlabeled. We needed things labeled well, since we were moving from our home in MA to my parents' house in CO temporarily, and we obviously needed some specific things for our temporary stay. Luckily, all of the baby stuff was packed in the moving truck correctly, and therefore properly delivered, but aside from the various boxes in our master bedroom, nothing else was labeled well enough to be delivered to the house vs the storage unit, and thus I am sitting here without a working computer or other necessary items so I can work while we wait to close on our new home. The loading happened the next day, and that was a whole other cluster f*** that was wholly unnecessary, and ultimately was ABC's fault. We received a lot of rain in the weeks before we moved, and the moving truck driver was unwilling to get his truck stuck in the mud while we moved. It turns out that the driver mentioned this multiple times to ABC, asked to have a couple of UHaul trucks scheduled to shuttle our items to the moving truck parked a couple miles up the road, and had a well thought out plan to be completely finished with the loading process by 1 or 2pm. ABC thought it would be unfair to change the plans on us, and therefore opted to not do anything. When the driver showed up at our house at 7am that day, he let us know that we would absolutely need those shuttles, and therefore he would be back in about 2 hours with everything he needed. He brought three movers with him and while they absolutely cranked through everything, they weren't done until 6:30pm, they missed a bunch of the crappy labeled boxes so they're buried in the storage unit, and ultimately the moving process was so much more stressful than necessary. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere for your moving needs, but if you ever have the opportunity to work with Stephen Snyder, the driver, he was awesome!
