There are only five Chuck E. Cheese locations left in Massachusetts. Chuck E. Cheese's parent company, CEC Entertainment, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2020. Soon after, four Massachusetts locations were among 45 nationwide to close. Those were in Springfield, Natick, Leominster and Danvers. But the pandemic wasn't the only reason the company has struggled. Chuck E. Cheese's had issues before the pandemic, losing money four of the previous five years before the pandemic after being acquired by Apollo Global Management in 2014, CNN reported.
